November 1997: IUCT was stablished as a Research and Technological Institute of Science and Technology. April 1998: inaguration of IUCT facilities in Mollet del Vallès (Barcelona), currently IUCT headquarters. IUCT occupies 3000 m2 including 1000 m2 distributed in 7 specialised laboratories and a pharmaceutical manufacturing pilot plant. Year 1999: IUCT is co-founder of the Spanish division of the European Society of Combinatorial Sciences.
February 1999: IUCT becomes the headquarters of Green Chemistry Institute of Spain, member of the Green Chemistry International Institut (member of ACS in EEUU). The aim of GCI is to promote the research and education in Green Chemistry through the collaboration between government, industry, university and national laboratories. April 1999: research cooperation agreement between AFAQUIM (Fine Chemical Association) and IUCT.
Summer 2000: agreement between LGAI ( General Test and Investigation Laboratory) from the Generalitat de Catalunya and IUCT to promote the activity between both centers.
October 2000: IUCT is invited by the OCDE (Organization for the Economical Cooperation and Development) to take part in the "Workshop on Research and Development in the Context of Green Sustainable Chemistry" that takes place in Tokio.
January 2001: inauguration of the pharmaceutical pilot plant. From this moment IUCT can offer a new service, Pharmaceutical Development and Innovation.
May 2001: IUCT is invited to take part in the "Expert Group Meeting on Clean Technologies for sustainable Chemistry and Pollution Reduction and Prevention" organized by the International Centre for Science and High Technology and United Nations Industrial Development Organization, UNIDO, that takes place in Italy.
June 2001: IUCT is invited by the IUPAC and the University of Colorado to take part in future actions committee from “IUPAC CHEMRAWN XIV. Green Chemistry: Toward Environmentally Benign Processes and Products”
September 2001: IUCT is invited to take part in IUPAC-OECD Workshop on Green Chemistry Education.
May 2002: IUCT is a co-founder of the European Network of Ionic Liquids.
End of 2002: IUCT takes part of the Department of Industry from the Generalitat de Catalunya
Year 2003: a IUCT’s agent becames a member of the Goberning Board of the Green Chemistry Internacional Institut, headquarted in Washington.
Year 2004:IUCT receives the GMP certification from the Ministery of Health, for the development and control of pharmaceutical specialities. December 2006: IUCT inagurates a new delegation in the Cientific Parc of Madrid (Tres Cantos).
